Question regarding World Activity Bar configuration

I started using the World Activity Bar plugin last night, and I have to say that I really like it! It tucks itself into a little corner of unused space while giving me more than 10 world clickies, which is all kinds of useful for me.

I have some questions regarding the configuration of it. I saw in the original thread that one could change the font and font size, and I do see those two options in the plugin text when I edit with Notepad++, but they appear to be commented out by default. I am guessing I am supposed to copy and paste them in somewhere else before editing them to my preferences. Is that right? Where should I put them? I am not any good with the scripting stuff.

Related, if I wanted to change the color of the numbers and background, I /think/ I see those options above the font options, also commented out! Should I paste those to wherever the font options will go if I want to change them? I'd like to try it out with a black background and lighter numbers if possible.

And one more question! With the configuration, is it possible to disable the blinking? I would like it if the numbers changed color to red or something to indicate new activity, but not so much the blinking part. Is this feature set in stone?

And you're right in saying that there are no characters before the lines to comment them out. I was going by what someone had told me before, where they said that lines appearing in orange in Notepad++ were commented out and not going to be 'seen' by the plugin, allowing you to put instructions and such without issue.

That area is entirely in orange and doesn't seem to be having any sort of influence on the plugin. As you can see there, I tried increasing the font size in single steps all the way up to 16, all without any change when I save the file and open a world back up; default settings remain in every way.

OK, the plugin files are technically XML because the XML part has the plugin information, plus triggers, timers, aliases and so on.

It also has a “script” part, in a CDATA section. That is used so that every < and > sign in the script doesn’t have to appear as &lt; and &gt;.

Your editor just thinks it is a big blob of text and is rendering it in a different colour, that’s all. It isn’t a comment. Most of the work is in that script part.

I changed the font myself, and I must say up to 16 points you can’t really see the difference. Try 30 points. Also Fixedsys might not be an optimal font, since it is only designed for 9 point. Try a different font as well.

If you make the blink colour the same as the active colour, then you won’t notice the blinking.

Huzzah! That sounds like it will do the trick, even if half of that was me wasting your time. I expected much bigger jumps in size with each increase to font size, so I thought something was wrong when I went all the way up to 16 without an obvious shift.

The blinking thing also sounds very simple to handle! A semi-related question for that area of the configuration: is one of the color fields for making the button background for the currently active world more obvious, kind of like how the default activity bar made it look like a button was pushed in for the active world?

Apologies if that's a silly question; I'm not able to open the program up to poke around myself at the moment, so all I can do is squint at the screenshot and go 'Maybe that one?' to no effect.

You would have to change fill_colour depending on whether the world was active or not.

I snuck a quick break in to futz around with the stuff you talked about here.

The size increase and font change do indeedy work, thank you! Swapped it over to Ebrima font at 25 and everything looks nice and fancy, even from way across the desk where the second monitor is situated.

Color changes worked out too, for the most part! I can't figure out a way to make the currently selected world more obvious, alas. BUTTON_FILL seems to be for the background of the individual buttons themselves, BUTTON_FILL_CLICK is the color that the buttons briefly blink with when clicked on, and BUTTON_FILL_MOUSEOVER is the color the buttons temporarily change to when hovering over them with the mouse cursor.

If the plugin doesn't offer that functionality then that is fine! My main concern was getting more than 10 buttons up there to view, and it delivered all of that and more. Thank you for your help, and for the plugin itself!
