gdb question: list command not working

When I open a core file with gdb I get this with all my frames. Can someone please help me out

(gdb) frame 4
#4 0x080f3c56 in spell_teleport_superior ()
(gdb) list
1 in ../sysdeps/i386/elf/start.S

if you need to know any specific details let me know, but it should be a problem people have encountered before (although I can't locate it on this forum)

I've never had a problem. What are you using? Cygwin?
