someone was saying that they have windows xp and its just a regular pc but they run a mud off of it? is that even possible. i did not think you could run a mud off cygwin

is it?

It certainly is capable. Not as easy, since it requires extra software to run(cygwin). But its doable. Issues will arise in that you have to reboot the system alot more frequently, but you can still run it. Even if you don't use cygwin, it can work.

The executables on this site don't even need Cygwin, they run on standard Windows. If you want to recompile you will need Cygwin, or get Visual C++.

Windows can be unreliable, but the NT based versions (like XP) should be reasonably reliable.
